QR Codes
Using QR codes to share your menu provides significant advantages for your restaurant. A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that can be scanned by any smartphone, making it easy for guests to instantly access your digital menu. This approach streamlines the dining experience, connects your physical space with your online presence, and ensures customers always have the most up-to-date information.
QR codes deliver several key benefits:
- Real-Time Updates: Any changes you make to your menu are immediately available to customers, eliminating outdated information.
- Reduced Costs: Minimize expenses related to printing and reprinting menus, as updates are handled digitally.
- Contactless Access: Guests can view your menu on their own devices, reducing the need for physical menus and supporting hygiene.
- Actionable Insights: Track how and when customers access your menu to better understand guest preferences and behavior.

Tips for QR Codes
Displaying QR codes prominently throughout your restaurant ensures guests can easily access your digital menu with a quick scan.
Designing Your QR Code Display
To maximize the effectiveness of your QR code display, ensure it is both attractive and functional:
- Use clear, action-oriented messaging such as “Scan to View Menu” or “Digital Menu” to encourage guests to engage
- Ensure the QR code is printed at a minimum size of 2cm x 2cm for reliable scanning
- Incorporate your restaurant’s branding, such as your logo, name and signature colors, to create a cohesive and professional appearance that aligns with your overall guest experience
Display Locations
Display your QR code in prominent, high-traffic locations to maximize visibility and convenience for diners. Ideal placements include each dining table, the restaurant entrance, waiting areas, and pickup counters.
Placement
When placing your QR codes, ensure they are positioned at eye level for natural visibility and are well-lit to facilitate easy scanning. Make certain that the codes are accessible to customers of varying abilities, and, if displayed outdoors, protect them from weather and wear to maintain their usability over time.
Print Formats
Consider printing your QR codes in multiple formats, such as table tents, stickers, window clings, and posters, to suit different areas and purposes throughout your restaurant.
For maximum reach and convenience, also consider integrating QR codes into existing touchpoints: add them to signage, print them on receipts to encourage repeat visits, include them in social media posts and advertisements to engage a broader audience, and place them on takeout bags or delivery packaging to provide easy access for off-premise customers.
